Development Coaches join the FFSW Team
The FFSW Board are excited to be identifying two new Development Coach roles to the team in the South West Region.
Former SW Regional Development Officer and current High Performance Centre Coach, Perry Krakowczyk, will be adding to his current workload and continuing his work within the southern area of the SW region, apart from Perry’s commitment to the HPC he will now also be assisting coaches in the Busselton through to Margaret River areas. Perry is also keen to establish a HP Centre in Margaret River and numbers have swelled to accommodate. Expressions of Interest are being collated for players wishing the participate in development programs locally. For more information and to register your interest go to HPC Assessment Form for U9 to U14's or FUNdamentals Registration for U6 to U8's.
The Board are delighted to welcome Gareth Johnston to the Development Team. A South West local since 2007 Gareth has played and worked in the South West and brings with him both strong coaching qualifications and a wealth of knowledge of European coaching techniques and enthusiasm. Gareth will be directing his energies initially with coaches and clubs from Harvey to Capel.
Under the guidance and direction of FFSW Technical Director, Paul Wozny and assisted by FFSW’s Admin Manager, Amanda Hawkins and Coach Development Co-Ordinator, Ray Anderson, the FFSW is excited to be completing final “preparation” phases and at last getting our hard work out onto the field and affecting local coaches at clubs near you.
FFSW clubs will soon receive the timetable for initial visits by our new Development Coaches who will be explaining the strategy and implantation plan for the year ahead and into pre-season 2011 and answering questions and documenting input from coaches.
The technical plan will be rolled out over the season through a structured technical curriculum which will be focused on educating local coaches with sound coaching principles and methodology to provide the players with relevant and enjoyable sessions. Over time, this will lead to a better technical player with a sound understanding of the World Game.
The Development Coaches will deliver a number of initiatives ranging from
· how to get the best from the curriculum
· supporting Club coaches with specialised practices
· creating mentoring opportunities through the successful High Performance Centre
· Offer coaches regular opportunities to discuss, observe and experience “model” sessions and professional development opportunities which follow the FFA Technical Curriculum; including
a. In house Sessions within the Coaching Hubs
b. FFA Accredited Coaching Courses
c. On-line “Coaches Corner” forum opportunities
d. Regular access and mentoring by Development Coaches
· Build and develop the role of the Development Coaches to a greater weekly commitment to include Schools in a more structured plan for Term 2 of 2011.
The Board of the FFSW wish our Coaches and Clubs the best of success and believe that the activities of the Development Team will benefit all players, clubs and coaches and most importantly the growth of our game within the region.
