GOALKEEPER SPECIALIST COACHING SESSIONS

ALL COACHES, GOALKEEPERS AND OUTFIELD PLAYERS

Monday, 24th May 2010  -  Forrest Park, Bunbury  -  6pm to 8pm

FFSW are excited to offer the talents of experienced State Goalkeeping Specialist Coach and former Blackburn Rovers player, David Whalley to ALL coaches and players of the South West region.

Dave’s playing experience includes a two year spell with Blackburn Rovers in England before moving on to play for a number of non league teams.

During that time he gained his FA Coaching Certificate and studied for a Diploma in Sports Psychology combining coaching junior teams as well as presenting sessions at Burnley Football Club for the young Goalkeepers.

After moving to Australia 8 years ago he has been involved with the design of the Goalkeeping Academy programs in conjunction with Football West and taken a lead role in the coaching of the young Goalkeepers from ages 9 up to 15, many of whom have gone on to play for WA State teams at varying ages groups as well as being selected to play for Australia and Perth Glory.

In keeping up with the latest coaching methods Dave has completed his Senior Licence and also his Goalkeeping Senior Licence as well as attending the UEFA ‘B’ Course in 2003 in England.  His other qualifications include his Senior First Aid, Cert 4 in Training and Assessment and Cert 4 in Occupational Health and Safety.

Dave’s other roles include coaching Senior and Junior Goalkeepers at a variety of successful Perth Clubs, John Curtin Specialist Soccer School and various private one on one sessions.

To maximise this fantastic resource we invite coaches and all players - goalkeepers and outfield players who will all benefit from these sessions by participating, observing and discussing with David the importance and methodology of creating sessions which incorporate all players while developing your Goalkeepers.

All Players (Keepers & Outfield Players) and Coaches are invited to attend either or both of two sessions which will be designed around the following age groups;

6.00pm – 7.00pm catering for U10’s to U14’s incorporating basic Goalkeeping technique

7.00pm – 8.00pm designed for 15’s to seniors incorporating outfield players with the Goalkeepers

Tuesday, 25^th May – David will be working with the HPC players in Bunbury where coaches are welcome to observe.
